Alligator Shears

Choosing a scrap metal shear

Start with the material type and the largest section you need to cut. Compare the model’s rated capacity for that material, blade opening and length, cutting speed, voltage and phase. A machine’s tonnage alone does not establish which size or grade of metal it can cut.

Planning your installation and maintenance

Review the full specifications, operating instructions and guarding requirements before selecting a machine. Allow room for material handling and maintenance, and check which blades and service parts are listed for the exact model. Share your material dimensions and available power with Bluedog when requesting a recommendation.

Discuss your shear requirements.
